Situated in the heart of the Worcestershire countryside, Hewell Cricket Club is a small cricket club, we now have two Saturday XI League teams and one Sunday XI. The club has been in existence since 1856 and we are constantly looking for new members to join us to ensure we enjoy another 150 years. We have only just expanded to 2 Saturday teams for 2008, and will continue to build and move the club forward.
We play in the Crusader Worcestershire County League, and secured the Division 6 League title on Saturday 1st September 2007 with a win over Stone CC, both Saturday teams are progressing well in 2008, both 2nd in their respective divisions, and pushing for promotion.
The club has recently refurbished its club house to a high standard and upgraded the facilities to include a new kitchen and bar area, new toilets, changing rooms, and is a welcoming and inviting place to gather socially.
We plan to hold various nights to raise funds for the club throughout the season and into the winter months, the first of which was a music quiz on Friday 13th July which was highly enjoyable and great fun, followed up with a Family Fun day on August Bank Holiday Monday, and a race night planned soon. (see events calendar).
Every Wednesday we have a club night which during the season involves practice for players, but is also an opportunity for others to socialise, so please come and join us every week, all year round!!
If you are interested in reviving your cricket career, starting a cricket career, or simply looking for a local watering hole and joining us as a social member, then please use the contact us form, or simply call at the club.
